Bobby Eugene Vinesett, 80, of Chester, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Lucy Corr Village. A native of South Carolina, he was the son of the late Kyle D. and Zemrude Vinesett, and was preceded in death by two children, Freddie Vinesett and Bobby Vinesett Jr., and a grandson, Christopher Cabrera. Mr. Vinesett was retired from the United States Air Force, was a member of the VFW, and attended the Burkeville Air Force Annual Reunion. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Shirley H. Vinesett; three daughters, Patti Owensby and husband, Jack, Amanda Felty and husband, Stewart, and Tracy Gilliam and husband, Jim; two sons, Bruce Vinesett and wife, Diane, and Fred Gardiner and family; a step-daughter, Cindy Korb; a step-son, Wilbur Jones and wife, Ellen; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Vinesett and wife, Pat; two sisters, Sue Childers and husband, Avon, and Pat Whelchel and husband, Bill. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Pastor Dan Lipford officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
