Mrs. Maria Letitia Knight was born in Richmond on March 27, 1877; the daughter of James Edward and Ellen Henrietta Branch.
She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church for 80 years, and served as a member of the Senior Choir of Providence Park Baptist Church for 38 years.
The wife of the late Edward Knight, she received her education in the public schools of this city, and was employed by the city of Richmond for 30 years. Her service to this church and community was distinguished by her concern for children, and civic affairs. She was indicated as being the longest resident of this community.
She is survived by five children, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and one sister.
