Evan Campbell, age 77 of Breckenridge, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 16th at the Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Tom Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the Stoker Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Evan Floyd Campbell was born February 6, 1937 in Roswell, New Mexico to parents, Doc Moppin Campbell and Transie Adeline Woods Campbell. Mr. Campbell grew up and attended schools in Breckenridge. He was a Private First Class in the U.S. Army. On February 16, 1967, Evan married Dianna Chaney in San Antonio. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Campbell was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doc Campbell and Transie Campbell; his twin brother, Ivan Campbell; his brother, Otis Campbell; one son, Randall Campbell; one grandson, Preston Campbell; and one sister, Alice Chaney.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Dianna Campbell of Breckenridge; eight children, Michael Campbell and wife Robin of Missouri, Elmer Campbell, James Campbell and wife Deanetta, Robert Campbell and wife Billi, all of Oklahoma, Susan Morgan, of Breckenridge, Kathy Roberts of Ballinger, Sandra Stoker and husband Ray of Breckenridge, Cammie Wilson and husband Jamie of Lake Brownwood; three sisters, Mary Campbell, Effie Huffman, Gwendlyn Everett, all of Breckenridge; three brothers, Alec Campbell and wife Barbara of South Carolina, Ricky Campbell and wife Diane of Eastland, Billy Campbell and wife Vickie, of Breckenridge; thirty four grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
