William J. Ackerman Jr., 90, New Oxford, died Sunday morning at 6:15 o'clock at the Hanover Hospital where he had been a patient for the past three weeks.
He was the son of the late William and Mary Groft Ackerman. He had been employed by the B.P. Topper Cigar Co., McSherrystown. He was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica, Conewago; the Holy Name Society and the Loyal Order of Moose.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning with prayers at 8:15 o'clock at the Walters Funeral Home, McSherrystown, followed by a Requiem Mass at Sacred Heart Basilica at 9 o'clock with Msgr. Thomas J. McGough officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
