Orval "Doc" Holliday, 91, of Mountain, ND passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at his daughter's home near Mountain, surrounded by his loving family.

Orval was born May 28, 1922, on the farm in Park Township of Pembina County to Elmer and Anna (Onstad) Holliday. He attended the Holliday School near Mountain and started helping on the family farm at a young age, enjoying every minute of his farming career.

On December 10, 1951, she married Marvel "Lolo" Sigfusson. Following their marriage, they lived in Gardar until 1969, when they moved to the farm by Mountain. Marvel passed away October 1, 1995.

Orval served as Gardar Township Supervisor, on the Board of Directors at Borg Memorial Home in Mountain for over 20 years, and was also a member of the Pembina Hills Lutheran Church.

"Doc" is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Gerald) Byron; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were his son, Laine in 1963; sisters: Hazel Indridason, Florence Jore, Elaine Rodgers, June Holliday, and brother, Albert Smith.
