Roy Roscoe McMath was born on September 6, 1896 in Charleston, Arkansas (Franklin County) to James Isaac McMath and Srena Margaret Bollinger McMath (see links below). Roy was a retired farmer and a World War I veteran. He was a member of the Charleston Missionary Baptist Church.

Roy was twice married in his life. He first wed Nannie Mae Bonner on February 12, 1928 in Logan County, Arkansas, and the couple produced one son and one daughter. His second marriage was to Lula Mae Pack Swopes Blakely (see link below), who would be buried at his side upon her death in 1988.

A former resident of Star Route, Morrilton, Arkansas, Roy passed away at age 85 on Friday, August 6, 1982 at Russellville Nursing Center. At the time of his death, in addition to his second wife and two children, his obituary noted that he was survived by three brothers, four sisters, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
