Lynne Baldwin Bowling
May 31, 1935 - May 10, 2014

Lynne Baldwin Bowling passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2014; surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was the beautiful owner of the bluest eyes and widest smile and kindest soul. Her presence will be missed, and her memory will be celebrated daily by her loving family.

Lynne was predeceased by her father ,James Franklin Baldwin, her mother, Marjorie Parker Baldwin and her loving husband of 44 years, Col. Fredrick B. Bowling.

Lynne was born in West Chester, PA and spent the first 22 years of her life in Moylan Rose Valley, PA. Lynne graduated from Nether Providence High School in 1953 where she later became a teacher. Lynne received her degree from West Chester State Teachers College in 1957.

Lynne met her future husband when he was a student at the United States Military Academy at West Point. After they both graduated they were married and lived all over the world moving 22 different times. Lynne was very active in the Girl Scouts and was head of the Girl Guides in Bangkok, Thailand. Lynne earned a Life Membership in the Girl Scouts of America where she was a member for over 60 years.

She was a member of the Brainerd Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn (Greg) Barber and Sarah (Eric) Mankel, Seven grandchildren, Nathan, Ezekiel, Emily Mankel; Franklyn, Benjamin, Timothy and Rebecca Barber; and "Best Friend" and Caregiver Carl Levi.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14 at the North Chapel Chattanooga Funeral Home, with the Burial following in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Ragon officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the Red Bank High School JROTC.

Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tennessee 37343.
