Mr. Herbert Davidson Morris, 83, of the Mary I. Johnston Road near Princeton, W.Va., died peacefully Monday evening, February 9, 2004, at the Princeton Community Hospital. Born August 16, 1920, in Giles County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Woodson Bensin and Virgie Clara Smith Morris. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Lehona Gray Thorne Jones Morris; children, Galen Morris and wife, Donna of Roanoke, Va., David Morris and wife, Dianna of Bent Mountain, Va., Kermit Morris of Princeton, W.Va., Denise Wooldridge and husband, Paul of Princeton, W.Va.; stepdaughter, Rita Asbury of Princeton, W.Va.; sisters, Lucille Scribner of Kellogg, Idaho, Edna Jo Beck of Bassett, Va.; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2004, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Keith Linkous and James Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family today from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family of Mr. Herbert Morris is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
