Hanna City- F.W. "Bill" Arrowsmith Jr., 75, of Hanna City, passed away at 4:40 am Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Farmington Country Manor.
He was born November 2, 1938 in Peoria to Floyd W. and Lucille (McNeal) Arrowsmith. He married Mary L. Porter on February 8, 1958 in Hanna City. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2010.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Stephanie Arrowsmith of Yates City and Justin Arrowsmith of Trivoli; daughter-in-law, Sherry Arrowsmith of Trivoli; sister, Doris Quick of Peoria, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; his son William Paul; and sister, Betty Beachler.
Bill worked at the Peoria Stockyards for ten years, Bird Provision Co. for fifteen years, and Kraft Foods for twenty years, retiring in 2001.
He enjoyed all sports and being involved with his grandchildren in all of their activities.
He was a fan of Bradley Braves basketball and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Most of all his grandkids took priority over everything else.
Per Bill's request, cremation has been accorded and burial of ashes will be in Trivoli Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Logan-Trivoli Fire Protection District.
