Robert McKinley Painter, 57, of Waynesboro, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born in Waynesboro, on March 24, 1957, son of Ruth Quick Painter and the late William "Bucky" McKinley Painter, Jr.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and racing. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Robert will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Marshelle Painter.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Tamika Painter and Lenny Robinson, KaLynn Painter, Matthew and Kelly Painter, and Jordan Falls; a brother, Jon Franklin Painter; sisters, Sabina Painter Fitzgerald and Sharon Painter Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Trevor, Jaylen, Bryce, Kayla, Zachary, and Macie; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Timmy Dameron.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at McDow Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to help with funeral expenses.
Friends and family may gather, at anytime, at the home of Tamika Painter.
