Joseph Amato was a distribution manager at the Cleveland Food Terminal, retiring in 1981 after more than 30 years of service.

Mr. Amato, 77, was born in Cleveland and served in the Army during World War II in Europe.

He was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Cleveland.

He and his wife, Ruth, operated an antiques booth at Jamie's Flea Market in Amherst for many years.

Mr. Amato died Friday at Elyria United Methodist Village.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed Kentucky horse races.

Survivors include his stepson, Gordon P. Key of Punta Gorda, Fla.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Bogner-Busch Family Chapel, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Hospice Program of St. Joseph, 221 W. 21st St., Lorain 44052.
