Jean Worz passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the age of 93. She was a woman of extreme will and resiliency having raised three very young boys after the death of their father, Arthur E. Perry, of tuberculosis in 1950, and in facing a myriad of health challenges while living on her own. She will be missed by her three sons and better halves, Gary (Joyce) Perry of Colorado, Thad (Suzanne) Perry of Ohio, and Dale (Lorraine) Perry of Kentucky; her grandchildren, Jeff (Amy) and Karen (David Schneider, Adam and Michael, and Chad, Todd and Monica Muldoon; plus her special sleepover girl, Sophia; her great-grandchildren, Jake, Justin, Will, Anne, Kay, Wright, Loren, Erin, Skylor, and their loving mothers, Jennifer and Allyson Perry, and father, Mike Muldoon; her late husband Jake Worz's son, Larry, daughter, Darleen, daughter-in-law, Francis, and loving granddaughter, Linda Niemira; and by her adopted family, Ron and Ortha Sibbitts, her sister, Janette Pesek and family, Cathy and Bill Cronen, and the Rutledges Dick, Jack and Nancy Jackson, plus numerous other family members and friends. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, lived in Saranac Lake, New York, where she continued her nursing and homemaker roles and eventually lost her husband Art, who was at Will Rodgers TB Hospital there, and after a few years in the Adirondacks and Canton, New York, returned to Cleveland where she later married a very supportive and caring Jake Worz in 1955. Together they enjoyed fishing in Canada, traveling the Americas and Europe, and eventually retired in 1968 to St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, golfing, swimming and relaxing with friends. After Jake's death, she moved to Northern Kentucky in 1988 where she spent most of her time as a volunteer at St. Elisabeth Hospital. For the last ten years she has been a resident of Gahanna, Ohio: walking, keeping the candy drawer stocked for the grandkids, pursuing her talents as a great cook, and driving her Mercedes to-and-fro, even having a police officer stop her to say she was doing a good job. God bless her, she was truly a good, good mom and will be missed by all. Memorials may be sent to the Columbus School for Girls. Visitation will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24, 2010. She will be buried in Cleveland, Ohio at Acacia Cemetery with her husband Art and her parents.
