BACHELOR, William C. "Bill", age 90 of Northridge, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011. Bill was born in Dayton, February 20, 1921 to the late Carl O. & Stella F. (Collins) Bachelor, He was a 1939 graduate of Dixie High School in New Lebanon, Ohio, retired from Ohio Casualty Insurance Company, a life time member of DCA, U.S. Marine Veteran of WW II and the Korean War, & life time member V.F.W and American Legion. Founding member Northridge Amateur Athletic Association, well known bowler, avid golfer, a member of ROMEO'S, (a group of retired claim adjusters) & volunteered at Grandview Hospital. Former member of the Northridge Board of Education & was inducted into the Northridge Schools of Hall of Fame in 2006. Preceded in death by his parents ; 4 brothers, Pierce, Earl, Carl & Marshall; 3 sisters, Mae Lotterer, Ruth Vaughn, & Pearl Lucille (infant). & daughter-in-law Sherrill A. Bachelor. Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Bengaline (Leever); daughter & son-in-law, Toni Hyder-Goodwin & Frank Goodwin; 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Carl E. (Rick) & Jeanette, Steve & Terri; 5 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren & 3 great great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family & friends Funeral service 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 17 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, "Northridge Chapel" 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Mr. James Vaughn officiating. Interment Arlington Cemetery, Brookville, Ohio.
