BACHELOR, Bengaline L. 87, of Northridge, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014. She was born October 11, 1926 in Assumption, Illinois, the daughter of the late Russell and Elizabeth (Ropp) Leever. A graduate of Brookville High School, Benge graduated from Wright State University with her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education. She was involved in her children's activities; a founding member of the Northridge Mother's Athletic Association. She was a Substitute Teacher in the Northridge School District prior to her full-time position with the New Carlisle School System from which she retired. Benge and her husband were inducted into the Northridge Hall of Fame in 2006. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, William C. Bachelor; daughter-in-law, Sherrill A. Bachelor; and brother, Robert Leever. Bengaline will be sadly missed by her children, Carl "Rick" (Jeanette) Bachelor, Steven (Theresa) Bachelor, Toni "Chops" Hyder (Frank) Goodwin; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends. Visitation from 5-8 PM Wednesday, May 14, Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton. Funeral Services 1 PM, Thursday, May 15. Burial to follow at Arlington Cemetery, Brookville.
