Funeral services for Mr. David Daniel Morgan, age 91, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Cotton Valley, LA with Rev. Don Shirley officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Cotton Valley, LA
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church and again from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Monday.
Mr. Morgan was born on October 19, 1922 to James Ambrose and Lissie Sims Morgan in Guntersville, AL and died on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Cotton Valley, LA. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Cotton Valley and worked as a carpenter. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
He is survived by his son, Clyde Morgan and wife, Debra of Cotton Valley, LA; sister, Ideallie Bruner of Gladewater, TX. He is also survived by a grandson, Timothy Morgan and wife, Chantrice of Springhill, LA; three great-grandchildren, Manuel Baes, Raquel Baes and Coyie Morgan. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children, Ada Wheless, his wife, Emma Lee Morgan; son, Richard Morgan, his daughters, Margie Morgan, Elaine Cook and Virginia Morgan; brothers, Robert Morgan, Leonard Morgan and, James Morgan; sisters, Myrtle Wheless and Eva Watkins.
Pallbearers will be deacons of the First Baptist Church.
