She was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, Alter Society and other church activities. Evelyn retired to enjoy life with her husband and daycare for her great-granddaughter. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, camping, laughing and spending time with her friends, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Remus May, in 2013; one brother, William Powers; and two sisters, Mae Dell Powers, and Esther Powers.
She is survived by her two children, Keith (Darlene) May of Panther and Robyn (Tom) Bachmann of Crystal Lake, Illinois; three grandchildren, Krystal (Michael) Medley, Erica May, Nathan May and a great-granddaughter, Lilian Grace Medley and one on the way; one brother, William "Bill" Powers; three sisters, Marguerite Thomas of Cincinnati Ohio, Martine (Joe) Stahr of Clinton, KY and Elizabeth "Betty" Powers of Owensboro; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Martin Catholic Church with Father John Luke Stahr, Father Pat Bittle officiating. Burial to follow in St. Raphael Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Prayers will be said 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
