[Dr. Oliver M. Dewing, superintendent of the Long Island State Hospital in Flatbush, died at age 47. Dr. Dewing was born in Wilton, Connecticut. After graduation from P&S and practice for a short time, he became a member of the medical staff of the insane asylum on Ward's Island. About twelve years ago he was appointed superintendent of the Kings Park State Hospital, and after practically building up that institution he was transferred to the State Hospital in Flatbush. He was an authority on mental diseases and had written extensively on the subject. He was a member of the Kings County Medical Society, the Associated Physicians of Long Island, the Brooklyn Society of Neurology and the American Medico-Psychological Association.
