In Loving Memory of MARCIA ANN SCUKA May 25, 1945 - Oct. 17, 2007 Marcia was born in her grandmother's house in Elm Creek, Ne. Her parents, Clifford and Loretta Scuka met at Campion Academy, Loveland, CO. and married in the early 1930's. Marcia was the third child born of this union, and later the family was honored with foster sister, Janie. The family moved many times, spending most years in Brady, NE. where Marcia graduated from grade school and continued her education at Platte Valley Academy, graduating in 1963. Marcia went on to attend two years of college in Nebraska and continued her education some years later in Loma Linda, CA. She was most proud of the year she attended grade school in a one room country school with only four students taught by her mother. She and her mother boarded during the week with a rancher's family. Marcia's main career began with RTD (which later became MTA) in Los Angeles, CA where she continued to work 28 years until breast cancer finally stopped her during the summer, 2007. She looked forward to her vacations, traveling many countries in Europe, Scandinavia, the Caribbean, and Australia. She especially loved cruising with friends and relatives. She greatly enjoyed her friendships through the years with members of the Business and Professional Women's Organization (BWP), and Soroptimist International, holding most every office and even planning a conference during her last days as the current president of BWP. Her other love was her animals, which she thought of as her children. Marcia is survived by two sisters, Janie Priest and Carmen Bradley; one brother, Gary Scuka, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Marcia loved her rose garden, but in lieu of flowers, her family would prefer those wishing to do so, make a donation to the Salvation Army or the Society for the Prevention to Cruelty to Animals in her memory. A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 27, 2007, at the West Covina Hills Seventh Day Adventist church, 3536 E. Temple Way, at 4:00 P.M. A reception will follow. -
