Forrest was born on September 20, 1932 in Kingsford, MI, the son of the late Henry and Iona (Coen) Barrow. He attended Kingsford High School where he ran track and set some records that held for over 30 years. Forrest served in the U.S. Marine Corps from January 24, 1951 until his discharge on May 26, 1952 where he obtained the rank of drill sergeant. Forrest met a Clintonville girl, Dorothy Gretzinger in Milwaukee. The two were married on February 20, 1954 at the Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. The couple lived in Milwaukee and then in the Detroit, MI area until returning to Clintonville in 1971 where they have lived since. Forrest worked in different manufacturing management positions including Garwood Industries in MI and Marion Body Works. He later worked for Choice Beer Sales, Shawano until retirement. Dorothy preceded her husband in death on May 16, 2006 after 52 years of marriage. Forrest's hobbies included curling, golfing, fishing, hunting and was an award winning "humstrum" player. He also enjoyed playing softball and was a proud member of the "Untouchables" team. His past memberships included the Clintonville Curling Club and the Clintonville Riverside Golf Course. Forrest enjoyed spending time and socializing with friends and especially with his family.
Survivors include: His daughters: Cindy (Jerry) Zaddack, Neenah, Jeannie (Pete) Sasse, Clintonville, Nancy (Tom) Rohan, Bear Creek & Donna (Bob) Krueger, Clintonville, His son: Dave (Roxann) Barrow, Hortonville, His grandchildren: Brian Zaddack, Amanda (Brian) Boehm, Julie (Brian) Stamm, Zachary & Nicole Barrow, Briana & Jacob Bamke, Samantha (Cody) Ebert, Mallory & Brandon Roberts, Amber & Nathan Krueger, 7 great grandsons, His sister: Donna Poquette, Kingsford, MI & His sister-in-law: Beverly Barrow, Neenah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, 2 brothers, Calvin "Dick" and John "Jack" Barrow and his son-in-law, Joe Roberts.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Daniel Burns officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville and after 11 A.M. Thursday at the church until the time of the service.
Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 63 and the V.F.W. Post # 664 of Clintonville.
