Albert Curless, 96, of Columbia City, died at 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Parkview Whitley Hospital where he was admitted earlier in the day.
He was born November 25, 1917 in Wabash County, Indiana a son of Earl and Grace (McKinley) Curless. He grew up in Wabash County, later moving to the Arcola area where he graduated from Arcola High School. In 1936 he moved to the Columbia City area.
On December 24, 1937 he was united in marriage to Margaret E. Roemer. They made their home at Goose Lake for 10 years, moving to their home in Columbia City in 1979.
He retired from Monsanto Company in Ligonier with 15 years of service.
His church membership was with Grace Lutheran Church.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Marge; three sons, Gene A. (Karen) Curless of Punta Gorda FL, Robert A. Curless of Martinsville and Danny J. (Deborah) Curless of Columbia City; a daughter, Joyce E. Curless of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
The graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. There will be no public visitation.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
