Mrs. Lawrence Purcell dies at hospital after lingering illness.
Mrs. Alice Purcell, 50 wife of Lawrence Purcell, local agent of the Railway Express agency, died at 7 o'clock this morning at St. Mary hospital, where she had been admitted only yesterday. Although she had been ailing for some time, her condition had not been regarded as serious, and her death was entirely unexpected.
Mrs. Purcell is survived by her husband,
a daughter Mary, 10,
her mother, Mrs. Ellen Sullivan, Chicago,
and the following brothers and sisters:
Daniel,
Gregory,
and Thomas Sullivan, Chicago;
Sister Joselita, Springfield, Illinois,
and Mrs. Eileen Regnier, Chicago.
A brother William Sullivan preceded her in death in 1937.
The daughter of Thomas and Ellen Sullivan,
she was born January 30, 1894, at Ancona, and had spent her entire lifetime in the local community.
Her marriage with Lawrence Purcell occurred in the city [Streator, Illinois] August 24, 1924.
Funeral services have been tentatively set for Wednesday morning, the hour to be announced later. Friends are priviledged to call at the residence 108 E. Grant Street after 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Tuesday evening.
Residence after her marriage was 411 East Main Street, Streator, Illinois.
