The death of Asa Sackett occurred at the home of his niece, Miss Adelaide Sutphen, on Tuesday night of last week. He was born April 7, 1839, on the Bostwick farm, near Middlesex.
When he was a young child his parents moved to a farm near Rushviile, and Mr. Sackett had resided in this neighborhood since. He was the last survivor of eight children of Thomas and Sina Sackett. Mr. Sackett has been in the livery business over 40 years, and only a few months ago sold out to Alfred Baldwin. He has been suffering for several years from consumption and for the last few weeks has longed to be released from his sufferings. Besides his niece, Miss Sutphen, there survive two nephews, Tyler and Richard Sackett of Michigan and a niece, Mrs. Anna Williams of Benton Center.
