Helen Hammond Copeland, widow of Henri H Copeland, died at her residence in the Country Club Apartments Monday after an extended illness. Private services will be held from the graveside at 11:00 a.m. today with the Rev. Gerald Hazelrigg officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
She was a native of Beech Island, SC, and had lived in Augusta for most of her life. Mrs Copeland was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Gilmore Hammond of Beech Island. She was survived by a daughter, Mrs Sarah C Evans of Augusta, Ga; three sisters, Mrs William [Charles] Bewley of Atlanta, Ga, Mrs. Wade B. Warren of Allendale, SC, and Mrs Alfred M Martin of Augusta; one grandchild, Mrs Pierce Blitch, Jr of Augusta; two great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
