Peggy was born and named Grace Gustenberger Hogle and grew up to change her name to Peggy Grace. She was named after Dr. Gustenberger in Mt. Vernon, OH who dlvd her. She married George(polish name- Kzicenzy sp?)changed his name to WALKER when he joined Army Air Force in WWII. He was from MIlwaukee, WI of Polish descent. They had 2 children - Little George - who died at age 6 on infantile paralysis - is buried in Phoenix, AZ. Daughter Nancy Ella - died at birth - b. PH,AZ. George died Nov. 1969 at Veteran's Hospital, Dallas, TX (heart attacks) Peggy lived as widow for near 30 yrs -- and she was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and chili... You either loved Aunt Peggy -- or you could not stand to be around her.. Was closest to Sister Viola Floyd -- and her grandchilren seen to Great-Aunt Peggy's needs her later years. She actually lived with her Great-Nephew Travis Dodd, she was bedridden - alzheimers is a terribly cruel disease. Travis's two babies Diddums 1 1/2 yrs and Cody - newly born were there with their Great-Great Aunt Peggy. For such a long time she stayed and both boys now recall helping her get out of bed to walk on her walker or push her in her wheelchair. They were just toddlers. Our Family loves our elders to the end.

Growing up in Mt. Vernon, Ohio: At 13 years old, older sister Elsie and the Hogle children did their Patriotic Duty and joined the Red Cross of Mt. Vernon, OH. The Family was very poor, and the Red Cross letter thanks them for their sacrifice. Aslo, a letter came form a WWI Soldier stationed in France, a friend of the Family - who read the children's story in the newspaper overseas. The original letter is here as a testimonial. 1918

1930 Census shows the "Konieczny Family" George and Peggy -- before they changed their surname to Walker to make it easier to pronounce and remember -- showed them living in Delafield County, Waukesha, WI. -- They were very close to George's sister Josie.
