Shawn M. Cain, 25, of West Lafayette, formerly of Fowler, died at 4:01 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in an automobile accident.

He was born March 18, 1984, in Lafayette, to Michael and Sheila Ringle Cain, who survive. He was a 2002 graduate of Benton Central High School and a 2006 graduate of Ivy Tech Community College with an associate degree in history.

Mr. Cain worked at SIA for three years in the body shop. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed writing music and playing it on his guitar.

Surviving with his parents is his brother, Brady L. Cain of Fowler.

Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Shelby Ringle of Fowler. Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Vincent and Bonnie Cain; and an uncle, Allen Cain. Shawn treasured the time he spent with his friends and family. He also leaves behind his pet turtle, Gus. Shawn was proud of his 2008 Chevy Silverado Z71.
