Reba A. West, 95, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014 at Highland District Hospital.
She was born Oct. 18, 1918 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Glenn and Alta (Frost) Abernathy.
Mrs. West was a school teacher for the Hillsboro schools and New Vienna schools for 33 years. She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, Church of Christ THEO Group, the Ohio Teachers Retirement Association and the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
She is survived by three children, 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; two siblings, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. West, on May 6, 2002; and one brother, Murden Abernathy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at the Hillsboro Church of Christ in the chapel. John Porter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday, May 9 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
