Sam (Tude) Conn 76, who lived on a farm east of Brook died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home at 11 a.m. Monday.

Born in Salem, Ore., he had moved to this community with his parents when seven years old. On Feb. 5, 1913, he married Dora Alliss at Kentland and the couple moved to the farm home in which he died. Mrs. Conn died in 1952.

He was a member of the Brook Knights of Pythias Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary McCoy, Joliet, Ill.; a grandson, John Conn, who was brought up by Mr. Conn; two brothers, Richard Conn of Brook and Donald Conn of Lafayette; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Bell, who resides in Germany.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Hershman & Weston Funeral Home. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
