Thomas Sheldon Leath, 56, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Monday, Aug. 11, 2008 at his home in Boise, Idaho where he had lived his entire life.
Tomas was born Sept. 3, 1951 in Boise, Idaho to Lloyd and Dorothy Leath. A son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend. We will miss him now and always, and remember each of our own special times with him. He was a big guy, pushing 300 pounds with a childlike mind, and was everybody's friend. He always had a special story to tell everyone he met. At a young age, he was fascinated with road equipment after getting his very first Tonka trucks. One day, mother couldn't find him and her search found him several blocks away following the street sweeper on his purple Schwinn bike. After that, she could always find him by looking for the nearest road construction. The last several years, going to the grocery store had been his all time favorite thing to do. He knew most of the employees at Albertson's, M&W, and Winco by name. We thank you for helping him with his grocery lists.
Tom loved going to our cabin at Warm Lake. Before the old South Fork swimming pool closed in the early '70's, Tom swam their [sic] everyday or jumped in the lake. Over the years he visited his friends at other cabins and campsites, and made daily visits to the lodges for a Coke.
He is survived by his sisters...his nieces and nephews... [escpecially] his niece [who was his] caregiver ...and many cousins and friends. We will all miss Tom in our own special way. We would also like to thank Life's Doors Hospice with a special thanks to Anne.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, Aug 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Cloverdale Memorial Park. Please leave your memories and condolences for the the family at www.cloverdalefuneralhome.com.
