One of seven children of Edward and Matilda Berg: Russell R. Berg, 62, Succumbs At Home After Long Illness. Russell R Berg, 62, a lifelong resident of this community, died at this home 618 West Plymouth street, Tuesday evening after an illness of three and a half years. Born Jan. 26, 1893, Mr. Berg was the son of Edward and Matilda (Knoblock) Berg. After graduating from Bremen High school, he attended Purdue University. He was a member of the German Township Farm Bureau and of Salem Evangelical United Brethren church. In 1945, he and his son Fred established Berg's Refrigeration and operated it continuously since that time as an appliance and service store. He moved to town from his farm southwest of Bremen in 1947. March 15, 1914, he was married to Aleda Berger of Bremen, who survives with their one son, Frederick E. Berg of Bremen, and one daughter Mrs. Robert Weiss of Mishawaka. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Welcome Huff of Bremen, and one brother, E. Keith Berg of Copley, Ohio. There are six grandchildren. Friends may call at Glant's Funeral Home until noon Friday. Funeral services will be held in Salem church at 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, Rev. F. G. Kuebler, the pastor, officiating.
