Larry served in the US Navy during WWII. 1940-1942 Larry served aboard the battleship, USS Tennessee (BB-43). On that infamous day, December 7, 1941, 21-year-old, Larry, found himself mustered as an F2c (Fireman 2nd class), aboard the battleship, USS Tennessee (BB-43) moored along battleship row at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
1942-43 assignment - the escort carrier, USS Bogue (CVE-9).
1944-46 assignment - the aircraft carrier "Big Ben", USS Franklin (CV-13). While serving as an MM2c, (Machinist Mate 2nd Class), the USS Franklin took 2 direct hits from Japanese armor piercing bombs which tore through 2 decks and igniting fires through 3 decks. 800+men were killed and 400 injured.
1946-48 assignment - the destroyer, USS Holder (DD-819).

Larry and Anna lived at 3172 River Road. In 1959, Larry's occupation was switchman for the NYCS (New York Central System) Railroad.

Larry and Anna had two children, Mary Ann and Lori. Stepdaughters Rosie Howe Long and Margaret A. Howe Winkle.

Anna passed away in 1966. Larry later married Nancy Keeton and later Eva Wilson.
