Robert Lovell "Bob" Burdette, 73, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Born in Charleston, WV, he was the son of the late Henry Lovell Burdette and Irene Hall Burdette. Mr. Burdette was retired from FMC Lithium. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Eric Pressley; grandson, Grayson Roper; two brothers. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Jennie Mae Burdette; children, Beckey Thompson of Clover, SC and Jeffrey Burdette of Lowell; step-children and spouses, Jackie and Scott Mayberry of Kings Mtn. and Brian and Angie Pressley of Cherryville; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Sherry Burdette of Portland, OR; sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Johnny Dolin of Fayetteville; 3 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with Rev. Paul Gillikin officiating. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
