Chris N. Woodin 68, of Beaumont and formerly of Redlands, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Born November 14, 1945 in Montour Falls, NY, his family relocated to San Bernardino in 1961. He enlisted into the U.S. Army as a military police officer and proudly served his country in Vietnam.
Chris spent over 27 years as a police officer, having last served the City of Redlands from 1974 through 1998 where he retired as a police lieutenant. He was a member of several organizations to include Redlands Masonic lodge #300 F&AM, San Gorgonio Pass High Twelve Club, VFW Post #8547, Blue Knights Motorcycle Club, Ch. IV and the Beaumont-Banning Elks Lodge #1839, B.P.O.E.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna and his daughters, Sarah Nunley and Emma Reid, also of Beaumont, His son-in-laws, James Nunley and Wayne Reid Jr., and his 3 grand-daughters Savanah and Gracie Nunley and Layla Reid.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at First Baptist Church located at 5500 Alessandro Blvd, Riverside, CA 92506.
Interment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 12:00pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Miller-Jones Mortuary, (951)485-4542. Published in San Bernardino Sun on May 4, 2014.
