"MRS. LEWIS NORTON......Mary Louise Little, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Little, was born at Sibley, Iowa on June 24, 1883, and passed away at her home north of Brantwood in the Town of Knox, last Saturday at midnight. She was married to Lewis (Pat) Norton March 17, 1900 just 26 years to the day of her burial. Their home has been in and around Tripoli most of this time. About two years ago they moved to the Town of Knox the home at which the husband was born. To the union were born 14 children, 12 of which were here today. Lewis Harrison, Frank Carlyle, Arthur Ernest, Glen Kenneth, Thomas Marion, Bernice Adele, Kermit, William Stephen, Norman, David Wood, George Elliott, John Allen, Beatrice Louisa, and May. Several of the older children are married, and these children with the husband survive. Besides the immediate family she leaves 5 sisters and one brother: Mrs. Wood Norton, Tripoli; Mrs. Sweet, Athelstane, WI; Mrs. Sweet, Marinette Cty, WI; Mrs. Buntz, Tony, WI; Mrs. Jawson, Winterset, IA; and Charles Little, Pern, IA.
The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon at the Congregational Church at Tripoli, the Rev R G Heddon officiating, and was attended by a large gathering of friends who filled the church to its capacity, for she was most highly esteemed by all who knew her. Her sacrifices made in behalf of her family have been recognized and appreciated by her friends, and it seems almost a calamity that a mother so badly needed in her home should be removed by death. The burial took place in the Town of Somo Cemetery just west of Tripoli."
