Funeral service for Mr. James "JW" Willie Barr will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, May 5, 2014 at White Chapel Holiness Church, Johnsonville with burial to follow in Florence National Cemetery. He died on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in a local hospice facility after an extended illness. "JW," as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was born December 29, 1934 in Johnsonville, SC to Ervin Barr and Bessie Rogers Barr. He attended the public schools of Florence County. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors of New York City. James attended White Chapel Holiness Church of Johnsonville, SC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two daughters, Debra and Sharhonda; three brothers, David, Arthur, and Harry; and one sister, Sylvia. Survivors are his wife, one son, two daughters, three special grandchildren, seven other grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; one sister, one brother, one aunt, four godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 2:00 PM 6:00PM today at the funeral home. The family is receiving family and friends at 1530 Rosedale Street, Florence
