Lifelong resident and farmer of Greensville County, Va. He served from 1964 to 1979 on the County Board of Supervisors. Also served on the Chowan Distrct Water and Soil Conservation Committee. Was a deacon at Purdy Baptist Church, a member of the Purdy Ruritan Club, served over 60 years as a member of the Emporia Masonic Lodge ad was sole living charter member of the Greensville Hunt Club. In 1987 Mr Clements was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate of Greensville Co. High School and in 1988, he received the Agriculture Appreciation Award by the Emporia/Greensville Chamber of Commerce. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Conner, one brother, Moses R. Clements,Jr., and two sisters, Mary Roberta Maitland and Prince Clements Pair. He is survived by one sister, Virginia C. Osbourne, two children Moses Clements and Connie Ellison; four grandchildren, Robert and Adam Clements and Jean and James Ellison; and two great-granchildren, Cora and Alyce Clements.
