Born in Coalgate, Ohio, he lived in Akron the last 24 years. He was a retired machinist from Goodyear, a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Oak Hill United Presbyterian Church and the Goodyear Hunting and Fishing Club.
He leaves his wife, Phyllis; two sons, James L. and Roger A. of Akron; a grandson; three brothers, Michael of N. Canton, Thomas of Elyria and Andrew of Grant's Pass, Ore., and two sisters, Mrs. Verna Sautner of California and Mrs. Mary Kanuch of Elyria.
Friends may call tonight and after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hopkins Funeral Home, where services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Hillside Memorial Cemetery.
