NEWTON - Bess Lore Schrum, 99, of 602 West Eighth St., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at her residence.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Grace Reformed United Church of Christ, with the Rev. David Bowling officiating.
Born Dec. 11, 1900, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late James A. Lore and Lida Walker Johnston Lore. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Grace Reformed United Church of Christ. She was a charter member of the Halycion Bridge Club, Fortnight Bridge Club, Executives Club and the Garden Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Schrum; four brothers, Rob Z. Lore, James V. Lore, Joseph C. Lore, and David G. Lore; four sisters, Mrs. Kent Turbyfill, Mrs. Hugh Williams, Mrs. Kenneth Spicer, and Mrs. Fred Hartness; and one daughter, Bess Lore Schrum.
Survivors are one daughter, Dorothy Dot Hamond of Newton and 2 brothers
