Albert Sidney Ashworth, 78, of Rosenberg, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at OakBend Medical Center. He was born May 29, 1928 in Village Mills, Texas. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 881, served in the U.S. Navy and the Korean War, was a member of the VFW and American Legion, and also the First Baptist Church of Rosenberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A.S. Ashworth Sr. and Minnie Birdwell Ashworth; and sister, Billie Jean Mooman.
He is survived by his wife, Janet DeShazo Ashworth; daughters: Kelly Ashworth, Robin Schwenke and husband, Mark, and Ginger Tucker and husband, Tommy; and two granddaughters, Miranda and Ashley Tucker.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Rosenberg with Dr. Donnie Melton officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006 at Angeles Crest Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
For those wishing, the family requests memorials be made to the Elevator Fund at First Baptist Church of Rosenberg or The Shriners Hospital in Galveston, Texas.
