Pierre was the 10th and last child of Thomas Christian and Hannah Shipley Cole. From family tradition had his death in California about 1865. Uncle Pierre never married. He was a printer all of his life.

In this city, August 3d, of consumption, Pierre W. Christian, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, in the 27th year of his age.
The funeral will take place this afternoon at O'clock, from the Episcopal Church, corner of E and Fifth streets. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend.

His brother, Samuel B. Christian, was one of the publishers of the newspaper.
