Lillie Pearl, daughter of John and Amelia Emery Overton, was born July 3, 1882, near Pekin; and passed away at Winter Haven, Florida. Wednesday Jan 8, 1941 at the age of 58 years, six months and five days.
Her father died when she was a wee babe of four months. She and her mother were tenderly cared for in the home of her dear grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Josiah Emery, until she was 17.
She was married to George Rider Nov 27, 1900, and to this union eight children were born:
1. Ervin William Rider 1902-1989
*2. Ruby Ann Rider McDube
*3. Everett Edward Rider
4. George Merle Rider 1907-1937
5. Bessie Mae Rider Myers 1912-
6. Mary Rider Janes
7. Charles Rider
8. William Lee Rider 1909-1917

She was a good wife and homemaker. A good mother and very much devoted to her children and grandchildren. She spent the greater part of her life doing kind deeds for her friends, neighbors and loved ones. The day was never too cold or the night to dark for her to do a favor for her neighbors and loved ones and to know her was to love her. She had gone to their new home in Winter Haven, Florida, early in the fall of 1940 and was happy in her new work as housekeeper for her daughter and granddaughter.
She leaves her devoted husband, six children, nine grandchildren her aged mother. Mrs. Wheasler, half-sisters, Mrs. George Frank; Mrs. Charles Kessler, Eau Claire; half-brothers, Grant Wheasler, Emery Wheasler, an only aunt, her father’s sister, Mrs. Jennie Cartwright; three aunts Mrs. Rena Markland, Mrs. Addie Hahn and Mrs. H.M. Baker, Uncles Will C. Emery, Newton Emery, Harry Emery and H.M. Baker. Several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
