Southbridge: N. Leo Boudreau, 89, of Charlton St., died Wednesday, April 23rd, in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 70 years, Rita T. (Peck) Boudreau; a son, Leo R. Boudreau and his wife Suzanne of Southbridge; two daughters, Susan A. Giguere and her husband Roland of Thompson, CT and Paulette R. Guertin and her husband Kenneth of Southbridge; a daughter-in-law, Bridget (Sullivan) Boudreau of Southbridge; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His son, John J. Boudreau, predeceased him in 1997. He was also predeceased by four brothers, Henry Boudreau, Paul Boudreau, Joseph Boudreau and Armand Boudreau and a sister Rita LePage. He was born in Southbridge the son of Clement and Alexandria (Desourdy) Boudreau. Leo was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving as a Medic.
Leo worked at Pratt and Whitney for 32 years, retiring in 1986. He previously worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge. Before serving in the Army he worked at Ames Worsted in Southbridge. After retiring Leo worked part time at the Big Bunny Market in Southbridge. Leo was a member of the Leonide J. Lemire Post 6055 of the VFW in Southbridge and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Detriana council 199 in Southbridge and served as Vice President of the DeTriana Corporation. He also was a member of the League of Sacred Heart of the former Sacred Heart Parish in Southbridge. Above all Leo's most cherished activity was spending time with his family.
His family would like to thank the staff of the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the care and compassion they gave to Leo.
His funeral will be held on Friday, April 25th, at 12:00pm in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will follow in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Friday, April 25th, from 10:00am to 12:00pm before the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
