Hs death brought together for the first time since the World War, two men who were buddies oversea. During the war, Garner, who was 43, was a lieutenant in the 80th Division. Dr. John J. Sweeney, Coroner of Bucks county, severed as a Major in the Medical Corp of the same division.
The two men were close friends while in France. Dr. Sweeney was notified yesterday and he went to the Garner home to view the body without knowing who the man was. On his arrival there Dr. Sweeney looked upon the dead body of his one-time buddy.
