Alma L. Updegrave, 82, of Tower City, passed away Wednesday morning at the Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
Born in Williamstown, Dec. 1, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude Dunleavy Evans.
Alma was a retired seamstress from the former Mansonwear Factory, Muir.
She was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the former Sheridan Fire Company Auxiliary.
Alma enjoyed crocheting, knitting and collecting teddy bears.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, William Evans, Betty Yerger, Daryl and Shirley Evans.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Dean W.; two sons, Walter Updegrave and his wife, Trish, Tower City, and Bruce Updegrave and his wife, Blanche, Reading; a daughter, Karen Readinger and her husband, Mike, Tower City; four grandchildren, Jessica Mauer, Tanya Readinger, Tiffany Boyer and Tyler Readinger; two great-grandchildren, Lindsey Conrad and Austin Maurer; two great-great-grandchildren, Matthew and Travis; a sister, Nancy Raho, Tower City; a brother, Harry Evans, Orwin; nieces and nephews.
