George "Bud" Ivan Denwood Age 89 years, passed away December 1, 2005 in Wilkesboro, NC. He was born September 30, 1916 in Indianapolis, IN to Orville and Grace Denwood. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Radio Repairman during WWII. Mr. Denwood worked for RCA, P.R. Mallory and Naval Ordinance in Indianapolis. While working for the United States Government, he was awarded an ASTP Award, a medallion, from crews of the Apollo Soyuz Test Project, "in appreciation of his contributions to the success of the first international manned space mission July 15-25, 1975." Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 E. Thompson Rd. Mr. Denwood is survived by his daughter, Penny Kerhoulas of North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Rita Smith; his sister, Eleanor Love; nephew, William Buxton; and niece, Betty Sue Gunderson. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Ona Denwood. From Indystar.com / The Indianapolis Star
