Mr. F. Estes Wagner, age 84, of Elkin, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Wagner was born in Ashe County on Oct. 19, 1922, to the late George B. and Nancy Cheek Wagner. Mr. Wagner was a member of Grassy Creek United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Armond Wagner, Dayton Wagner, and Amon Wagner; two sisters, Velma Wagner and Argel Wagner.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Grassy Creek United Methodist Church by Rev. Jim Pritchard Jr. The Wagner family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. at the church, prior to funeral services starting at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grassy Creek United Methodist Church Building Fund, 267 Klondike Road, State Road, N.C. 28676, in memory of F. Estes Wagner.
