He was educated in Biddeford schools. He later volunteered and served in the artillery with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Mr. Brochu worked as a brick layer and was a member of the Brick Layers/Mason Union Local II. He also owned and operated Nel’s variety store until his retirement.
He is survived by: his wife, Monique of Lewiston; three children, Sandra Marquis and her husband, Daniel, of Lewiston, Michael Brochu and his wife, Carol, of Lewiston and Daniel Brochu and his wife, Michelle, of Scarborough; four grandchildren, Heather, Robie, Cameron and Courtney; his mother-in-law, Helen Bissonnette of Lewiston; twin siblings, Paul and Pauline Brochu; and a sister Theresa.
