He was born July 3, 1921 at Brooklyn to Ray and Leta Kena Bacon. He attended school in the Brooklyn area. He was employed at Gra-Iron Foundry, Marshalltown, until his retirement in 1983.
On Nov. 20, 1964 he married Marguerite Heishman of Tama and they lived in Tama until he moved to Toledo earlier this year.
He was a member of the Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Tama American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Jean (Mrs. Ersol) Wilhelmi, Toledo; a stepson, Steve Heishman, Marshall-town; and four stepgrandchildren.
