Cy Tuma (Cyril Richard Tuma) had an amazing voice and perfect pronunciation and diction. His breath control as an announcer was phenomenal considering his lungs had been ravaged by polio from the age of 18 months. He wore a fiberglass body brace that went from under his arms down over his hips. The brace held him up and gave the illusion on camera that he was tall and broad shouldered. He was a very handsome man who walked with a fancy gold headed cane for most of the broadcast years until he finally had to rely on a wheelchair to get around. As news anchor at KOTV in the 60's he was called "Mr. News". Broadcasting was his life and he loved it.
