Gene was the son of Charles F. and Anna A. Geislman Nixon. He had worked for A. E. Staley Mfg. Co. for 40 years as an electrician. He was a member of Ansar Shrine and AF & AM. He was an avid golfer and starter ranger for the Decatur Park District at Nelson and Scovill golf courses. He married Carol Jones in 1974. He was survived by his wife, two brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter April Lynn, sisters Mae and Mary and his father-in-law Gene Jones.
