GREENVILLE - Funeral services for Joe Marion Galey, 58, of Greenville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville. He died April 27, 2006, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville.

He was born in Greenville where he was a graduate of Greenville High School. He also graduated from Delta State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Era and won a Bronze Star. After his discharge, he returned to Greenville, where he was employed with the Greenville Fire Department for about 10 years before becoming employed at Uncle Ben's. He retired in 1997 to take care of his wife, Shirley Stewart Galey, who preceded him in death in 2005. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Survivors include a son, Joe L. Galey and wife, Christie, of Greenville; a daughter, Jenny G. Hallman of Southaven; his father, J.M. Galey of Greenville; a sister, Ruthie G. Sweet and husband, Steve, of Greenville; and two granddaughters, Erin Jo Galey and Emily Rose Galey, both of Greenville.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.
